Dear Saugus Animal Hospital Clients,
Veterinary services are classified as part of the "COVID-19 Essential Workforce" by Governor Baker, therefore we will remain open to take care of your urgent animal care needs. However, we wanted to update you on our current plan to do so in a way to keep everyone as safe as possible.
Current Hours of Operation:
Monday through Friday – 8:30am-5:00pm
Saturday – 8:30am-3:00pm
Our phone number:
We are postponing all well visits, non-essential vaccines and elective surgeries, including routine dental procedures. These appointments can be booked for future dates. We are seeing patients on an emergency, sick, injured, time sensitive and/or chronic basis. Surgeries will also continue to be booked based on the attending veterinarian’s recommendation.
We are instituting “Curbside service” at our hospital to limit the number of non-staff members inside the building
• When you arrive at our hospital, please stay in your car with your pet and call the hospital.
• If you are picking up a prescription or food, we will have you pay over the phone and then will bring your items out to you.
• If you are arriving for an appointment, when you call the hospital one of our staff will find out the nature of your pet’s needsand will let you know the plan to bring your pet into the building while you wait in the comfort of your car. The doctor will examine your pet inside and then will call you, create a plan with you and go over an estimate. At the end of your visit, we can take payment over the phone and bring your pet back out to you.
If you are sick or at increased risk and have a pet that needs urgent care, please call our hospital and make us aware of the situation. We will create a plan to have your pet seen putting everyone in the least risk possible.
Unfortunately, during this time, we cannot guarantee which doctor your pet will be seeing, as our staff schedules may be subject to change. Rest assured that all our doctors are ready and willing to treat our patients, and your pet’s “regular” doctor will be aware of their visit.
If you have any questions or if you are unsure whether your pet should be seen, please call our hospital – we would be happy to help – 781-233-1340
If it is after-hours and your pet is having an emergency, please contact one of our local emergency hospitals. The American Veterinary Medical Association created this document to outline certain problems that should never be ignored, even if your local veterinarian is closed.
