Amy has been a member of our staff since 2005. Although a dog person at heart, Amy has also raised a variety of reptiles over the years and is knowledgeable in the care and handling of snakes and lizards. Amy has received extensive on-the-job training and passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam in 2006, completing all the requirements for her CVT certification in 2013. In addition to her full-time position here, she owns and operates the Tiger Institute Tae Kwon Do studio in Saugus, where she began training in 1987 and holds a 4th-degree black belt. Amy is frequently accompanied at work by Bee (Beeatrice-Anne), a medical "foster-failure" who was sponsored to travel to the US from Russia in 2021, and underwent radical orthopedic surgery, to regain the use of her hind legs. Amy also has a lovely senior cat named Iris, who was brought to SAH as an injured stray in 2010.
